First synchrony patient

Today Wijaya created another history by treating the first liver tumour using Synchrony software. This is a type of respiratory gating whereby the robot tracks and moves with respiration. Body tumours such as lung and liver will move in tandem with respiration. The task then is how do we target a moving object. With Synchrony, we are able to achieve an accuracy of 1.5mm without having the patient to stop breathing every time a shot is fired.
