1st spine case done without fiducials
Wijaya created history today with treatment of spine tumour without using any fiducials. Usually fiducial is required for tracking the location of the tumour. The insertion of these fiducials can be very painful. Today the treatment was done painlessly using a software called xSight. The patient was a 10 year old girl with spinal meningioma. Today's case is the first xSight treatment in the world outside United States. Photo showed patient (front row) with our Cyberknife team.

First synchrony patient
Today Wijaya created another history by treating the first liver tumour using Synchrony software. This is a type of respiratory gating whereby the robot tracks and moves with respiration. Body tumours such as lung and liver will move in tandem with respiration. The task then is how do we target a moving object. With Synchrony, we are able to achieve an accuracy of 1.5mm without having the patient to stop breathing every time a shot is fired.
